Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been one of the most adored television shows among the Indian audience. The show has been making the headlines for quite some time now for its mistreatment of actors. After being with the show for over 15 years, actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who essayed the role of Mrs. Roshan Singh Sodhi, accused producer Asit Kumarr Modi project head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj of sexual and mental harassment.
As she spoke up about it during her media interactions and through her social media posts, actresses Priya Ahuja and Monika Bhadoriya too opened up about the harassment and mistreatment they faced at the hands of the makers. From not paying them their dues, passing sexist remarks, to threatening to ruin their career, many details came in the limelight. Well, owing to all of this the name of the show started trending on Twitter with netizens requesting the makers to end the show, rather than dragging it out. It seems like everything the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah will start to witness the show’s downfall now as its TRP ratings have significantly dropped. Yes, you heard that right! According to the report by Koimoi, the show has lost its spot in the top 10 list of the TRP rating. While the rating of the show has been fluctuating for a while, it has always been in the top 10. However, after the above-mentioned allegations and accusations came to light, the show has slipped out of the Top 10 list and is now on the 11th spot. Talking about her ongoing case, the incident that urged her to take action against the makers of the show happened on March 7. She had informed the makers earlier that she wanted a half day as it was her wedding anniversary and Holi and her daughter was really excited to celebrate the day with her. However, instead of letting her leave, project head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj threatened her. According to recent reports, Mumbai police has started an investigation into the complaint of sexual harassment filed by Jennifer against producer Asit Kumarr Modi.
