Well, SpotboyE.com recently got in touch with Balraj and
during the course of the conversation he happened to reveal an interesting
anecdote about his friend Kapil Sharma.
While Balraj has made a name for himself in the last
couple of years, few know that Kapil was an integral part of his struggling
days. We asked if he plans to beat the popular comedian in times to come, he
says, “I know Kapil Sharma for 15 years now, when he was just Kapil and not THE
Kapil Sharma. He was my senior in college. He has guided me several times. In
fact, when I came to Bombay, we used to stay together for 5 months. He made me
familiar with the city and its transport.”

He adds, “My first show was on Star One called Laughter
Ke Phatke where Kapil was judge and I, a participant. We used to travel in the
same auto. We go way back and I can't think of beating him at any cost.”
It’s taken Balraj a while to make a mark. What stopped
him from becoming a household name earlier despite participating in numerous
reality shows? "I guess time was not in my favour because no one has ever
told me that my work ‘lacks’ that X-factor. Also, I feel that I performed with
bigger names in the past and was overshadowed. However, now, I am the only
comedian and the rest are actors. I am finally getting my due. The focus is on
me. Thank God,” he explains.

Balraj has been part of shows like The Great Indian
Laughter Challenge, Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala, Comedy Nights Bachao Season 2 and
Comedy Ka Dangal.
