TMKOC’s Munmun Dutta-Raj Anadkat Dismiss Their Engagement Rumours; Actress Says, ‘This News Is Ridiculous, Fake, And Ludicrous’

Asit Kumarr Modi’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah enjoys a huge fan following. While the last few years have not been so great for the show as it often made headlines due to its changing cast and repetitive storyline, ardent fans have been hooked to the show. Well, on Wednesday evening, news of Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat getting engaged took the internet by storm. As reported by News18 Showsha, they allegedly got engaged in Vadodara, Gujarat. Now, the actors have dismissed the ridiculous claims.
Taking to his Instagram stories, the 27-year-old actor, who essayed the role of Tapu in the show before marking his exit in December 2022, cleared things up about the rumours. Calling the speculation baseless, he wrote, “Hello Everyone, Just to clear things up, the news you've been seeing on social media is false and baseless. On the other hand, Munmun, who has been playing the Babita in the show for the past 15 years, stated that there is no truth to the story. During her interaction with Times of India, the 36-year-old actress expressed that she doesn’t want to react to the fake news that keeps coming up all the time. She said, “This news is ridiculous, fake, and ludicrous. Zero ounce of truth in it. For the unversed, the actors issued their clarification, hours after a report by News18 Showsha stated that the stars had exchanged rings earlier in the month in the presence of their family. A source close to the alleged couple stated that their families had accepted their relationship and were present during the ceremony. The source went on to add, “They have been dating ever since Raj joined Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. It was very evident. Everyone on the sets knew about it. In fact, some people were certain that Munmun and Raj would get married eventually. Therefore, it is not shocking that they are engaged now.”
