TMKOC’s Priya Ahuja Calls Out Asit Modi’s ‘Sadistic Behaviour’; Says, ‘He Enjoys It Jab Actors Unke Saamne Bheek Maangte Hain’
Priya Ahuja recently opened up about Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s producer Asit Kumarr Modi’s sadistic behaviour
Over the past 15 years, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has ruled the television screens. With its slice-of-life stories and relatable characters the show became an instant hit among the audience. However, the show has been making the headlines for quite some time now for all the wrong reasons. Ever since, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal has levied sexual and mental harassment allegations against the makers, actresses like Priya Ahuja Rajda and Monika Bhadoriya too have opened up about the injustice they and other female actors had to face at the hands of producer Asit Kumar Modi and his team.
After expressing her shock at being replaced in the show without prior notice, she has now called him out on his sadistic behaviour. The actress, who essayed the role of Rita Reporter for more than 14 years now, explained that the production team never fires any of its actors. Instead they will create situations like not writing about the character in the script which will make one want to quit the show. Reported by the Free Press Journal, she shed light on why they must be doing so. She went on to allege that Modi likes it when actors beg in front of him for work. The media publication quoted her saying, “He enjoys it jab actors unke saamne bheek maangte hain. I wasn't taken to The Kapil Sharma Show or Kaun Banega Crorepati, which affected me but I kept quiet because I didn't want it to affect Malav's work.”
Talking about the show, over the years a lot of actors have been replaced and re-casted. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is currently the longest running comedy show on Indian television.
