Urvashi Dholakia has always been the kind of actress who has broken norms and done what feels right to her. The actress who rose to fame as Kamolika in Ekta Kapoor’s serial Kasautii Zindagi Kay has yet again shown people why she is a role model for many young women. The actress recently took to Instagram and shared pictures of herself in a turquoise bikini, playing in the pool. Along with the pictures, she penned down a heartfelt body positivity note.
She spoke about embracing womanhood and the pressure women feel when they are constantly judged on the basis of their looks and how they are dressed, something that the actress has always defied. She wrote that her self-respect and dignity are earned by herself, and she needs no validation from anyone in her life. She also shared that bodies change daily and people should not judge them because a human life originates from a woman’s body. She wrote, "From time unknown, women have been judged ! From how they look,to what they wear & how they behave. The sheer pressure of being picture perfect is something I have defied at every step of the way coz I as a woman have all the right to be myself, wear what I want,do what I want & live my life exactly the way I want! My dignity & self respect is rightfully earned by none other than MYSELF! I don’t need no validation! Our bodies change each passing day & we don’t need to be judged for our shapes & sizes COZ A woman is where life originates from and that is the biggest asset I’ve had the pleasure of owning!"
