Shehnaaz Gill opens up about why she had to run away from her home to fulfill her dreams
It is safe to say that not every celebrity has it easy in the showbiz industry. Starting out as a fresher in the glamour world with no one to guide you through the process, what’s makes them achieve their goals, however, is their persistence and passion to achieve their dreams. Punjabi actress Shehnaaz Gill, who rose to fame with Bigg Boss 13, too had to run away from home to fulfill her dreams.
Yes, you read that right! The actor who always appears to be bubbly and happy all the time had run away from her home to follow her passion. She recently graced the sets of Indian Idol Season 13 for a ‘Senior Citizen Special’ episode, where she opened up about the challenges she faced while pursuing her career. During a conversation with contestant Debosmita Roy, Shehnaaz shared how very few families in Indian support a working woman. She even told the young artist that she is very lucky to have supportive parents. She said, “There are very few families in our country who support working women. Mai apne sapnon ko poora karne ke liye ghar se bhaag gayi thi (I ran away from my home to fulfill my dreams). Debosmita, you are very lucky to have such supportive parents. Always stand by them and make them proud.”
The actress-singer, who recently featured in the music video ‘Ghani Syaani’ alongside MC Square, also recalled how surreal and great she felt when she took her mother for an international trip to Dubai for the very first time. She went on to compliment Roy’s voice and told her that she is an expressive singer. Shehnaaz said, “Debosmita, listening to your voice, I feel that your voice will really suit my face. You’re an expressive singer and you feel every word that you sing. I felt like I should also give out expressions while you sang. Your performance was very good and very soothing. I can close my eyes and listen to your voice as I know I’ll feel very peaceful. All the very best and I know you will reach great heights.”
