Baalveer Returns Actor Dev Joshi On Turning Negative In The Show, 'I Wanted To Play Such A Character Since Childhood'- EXCLUSIVE
An exciting twist has been planned by the makers of Baalveer Returns after the protagonist's death in the show. In the upcoming track, we will see Dev Joshi aka Balveer taking a re-birth and this time he will play a double role, which will be a positive and negative character. Dev who has been playing Balveer since 8 years now, for the first time will play a negative character which he is quite excited about. Read on;

Baalveer's death had turned into an emotional moment for your fans. How did they react to you personally?
So, mostly all the fans were really afraid of me leaving the show initially. They were thinking that Baalveer is gonna get over. Even I got many Instagram DM's to clarify what's going on in the show. I am personally overwhelmed by the response of the audience and it shows how much they love me!

We hear now there will be a double role for you?
Yes. I would be portraying the character of Happy the joyous and jolly young man from UP who is a wedding planner and has his own lovely family who loves him alot! On the opposite, the character of Kaal is a very cold blooded, strong and powerful character who wants to rule the universe by killing all the look-alike's and pursuing powers of Baalveer who died.

You are playing negative for the first time. Is that making you feel nervous?
Well, I was always excited to play such a character since childhood. I always believe that as a villain, you get to explore a lot and it's a very interesting part to play. So when I am getting a chance to do that I am more thrilled to portray this character of Kaal and do my best!

Children are in love with Baalveer. Are you scared seeing you in a negative role will take that love away from innocent hearts?
Baalveer has always been my other name. It's been attached with me since we started the show in 2012 and it will be forever. But here as an actor, I would get to do something extraordinary in the same show which would be more exciting for the audience than heartbreaking. The counterpart character of Happy would be so happy and Joyous and always positive that the audience would never miss their Baalveer for a moment.

What preparations are you doing to look cruel for your other role?
Every villain has its style and aura, some trademarks and some really exciting moments! Here Kaal would be having them too to make him look really cruel and evil. He has a Dragon to ride on and also his world -The Drak Lok would be shady, Dark and scary! This is just a trailer, Kaal would be a villain that no one would have thought of before.

Playing a double role is not easy. Are you ready for that struggle?
I am already going through that struggle. For the promo I had to do all the characters in a single day. Also, all of them are different in style, characteristics, language etc. So it's hard but equally exciting and a struggle worth going through.

Lastly, how has Balveer changed Dev as a person?
Baalveer has always been my Best friend. Initially, we never had a character sketch of him and hence what I did became the style and class of Baalveer. Whenever I had some doubts or crossroads in my life, I thought as Baalveer and it showed me the right way! So it won't be wrong to say that Dev Joshi is Baalveer & vice versa.
