it came to you?
The song which I
will be shooting next is written and sung by Bobby Newberry, who is a famous
choreographer, singer and song writer in the US. He has worked with famous
personalities like Nicki Minaj, MNM, he was also in X Factor. So while he was
writing this song, he imagined India as the country in the backdrop and wanted
to come and shoot here. If you will hear the lyrics of the song---it is all
about taking chances in life--- it's a very motivational song. They started
hunting for a fitting Indian face, went through many profiles and they
really liked my personality.

Very
outgoing.
And?
They mailed me
about it and I excitedly said 'yes'.
Had Bobby seen
you before in Bob Marley?
Yes, he was
keeping a tab on me since July but I think he became sure only when he saw me
in the Bob Marley song. He became quite confident that I fit his expectations,
and can take the song to another level.
Have you guys
shot the song?
No, we got our
poster done yesterday and we will shoot on September 4 and 5 at two different
locations in Mumbai itself. One at Asalpha (Ghatkopar) where they have turned
slum areas into beautiful potraits with colourful walls and then at Vasai
Fort.
When did you
meet Bobby, then?
Yesterday only,
though we were in touch on phone. This is his first visit.
What did he say
when he first saw you?
He said I was
expecting you to be wearing a salwaar kameez. He was under the impression that
girls in India only dress up in western clothes during shoots, rest of the time
we wear only our traditional outfits.
How was the
experience working with him?
We were together
the whole day yesterday. I found him very down-to-earth. Plus,
he is very enthusiastic about his work.
What made you
say 'wow' about him?
He is a dynamic
personality. He is agreat dancer. But the thing that made me say 'wow' was he
is so super hot and handsome. I am sure girls will be jealous seeing my video
with him (laughs). I find myself lucky to work with him.
What all
questions he had in his mind when he came here?
He asked
me: Can you tell me who is the best dancer in Bollywood? I showed him few
dances of Hritik Roshan and Tiger Shroff and he was amazed. He said: Oh my God,
I never thought India has such good dancers. He was under the impression
that we follow only free style dancing and traditional dance forms like
Bharatnatyam and Kathak Kali.
Very few know
you started your career with a music video...
Yes, in fact I
started my career with Badshah. It was my first ( Razer Mera swag). But I
wasn’t given any credit in that nunber as I wasn’t famous that time and just a
backdrop dancer. The song was a hit but still no one knew my name. But I saw
people writing in the 'comments' section asking: What is this girl's name?
Lagta tha main hi jakar likh dun 'Divya Agarwal' but somehow I controlled
myself. And today is the day when my name is getting attached to such a famous
personality. Chance by Bobby Newberry with Divya Agarwal makes me feel on top
of the world.
When will you
guys will release the song?
Before September
10, as Bobby has to go back USA.
What are your
expectations from the song?
Dance has been
my religion since childhood. Hence I joined Terrence Lewis, ten years back. I
am hoping that Bollywood will open its doors for me after this video.
