Faisal Khan's girlfriend Muskaan Kataria speaks up on her beau's accident and their fate on the show Nach Baliye 9
TV actor Faisal Khan suffered an accident recently on the sets of his show Chandragupta Maurya. The actor-dancer who was also a participant on Nach Baliye 9 couldn't continue with the show as doctors asked him to be on bed rest for 8 weeks. We got in touch with his girlfriend Muskaan Kataria to enquire about his health, the show Nach Baliye 9 and lots more. Here are excerpts from our conversation with Muskaan:
So, your journey with Nach Baliye 9 is over?
Well, I am not allowed to disclose that as you have to wait for the episode.
Are there any chances of you and Faisal returning on the show?
Faisal has suffered a serious injury after which we are not even emotionally stable to think if we will get back on the show anytime soon. If you ask me, then more than the show, I am feeling bad for Faisal. It is extremely difficult to see him like this. But yes it’s also true that we won't be able to perform until he gets fine so probably our journey might end here. As doctors have asked him to be on bed rest for at least eight weeks which is a long time. However, he may start walking in two weeks but to dance it will take a long time. And life comes first so we don't want to take any kind of risk.
How is Faisal now. Is he still at the hospital?
No, he finally got discharge on 2nd. He was hospitalised for almost a week and it was a difficult time for us to see him in so much of pain.
When did you come to know of his accident?
So, I was supposed to leave for Umbergaon in two hours, where Faisal used to shoot for his show Chandragupta Maurya. As his schedules were tight I used to travel there for the final rehearsals with him. That day also I was about to leave when I got a call from the sets that Faisal has met with an accident. So you don't come here as we are getting him to Mumbai. I got scared hearing this and you won't believe in no time how many calls I made just to speak with him. But I couldn't get connected and finally I came to know uncle (his father) is with him so he made me speak to him. My mother also spoke to him but till that time too, we didn't know that it was so severe. Finally, when we reached the hospital, we got to know that it was a major accident.
How shocking was it for you to know that he can't dance for now and you might have to back out from the show?
I remember when doctor told us that at least for 6-8 weeks he has to be on bed rest. Our question to him was will he be able to dance because we all know what dancing means to him. It's his life and our concern was that in future he would be able to dance or not. That moment I didn't even think of what will happen to Nach Baliye as my concern was his health. But yes, later on I thought that in spite of working so hard on the show and coming across so many hurdles, we have to back out from the show like this. Probably, it was our destiny.
How disturbing is it for you and Faisal to leave the show like this?
When we entered this show, we definitely came with a vision to win and I would say that we were doing good. Honestly, not only him, but I too don't want to quit the game. In case we would have not done a good job or would have got evicted by low numbers, it would have been easy to say goodbye. But knowing that we were among the best performers and yet we can't give our best now definitely is making us feel disappointed. We haven't given up yet, especially him as he is recovering and giving his best to overcome this. I just hope and pray he gets fine soon.
Who all are there to take care of him?
His family, me and my family and his co-star Sneha Wagh whom he treats like a mother. She has taken care of him really well. In fact, initially when I saw him in hospital I felt that I will faint. I am very weak that way and can't see all such things. So everyone was like you first take care of yourself. But I keep visiting him and we are allowing him to rest as much as he can. Hee still has pain and we don't want to disturb him.
The shooting of his show Chandragupta Maurya is left. How are they planning to show the climax?
So luckily, Faisal was done with his close shots and rest they completed with his duplicate. Only two days were left to get over with, but considering his health they got it done from the duplicate. Thankfully that show didn't suffer due to this unfortunate incident.
Were you afraid to take up this show with him amongst so many renowned celebrities?
Actually no, being a model I was confident enough to be on-stage and perform but I was nervous for the fact that I have to keep Faisal's reputation. He is a brilliant dancer and I surely didn't want anything to go wrong because of me as I was a non-dancer. Also I won't deny the fact that in spite of this being my television debut, the judges, contestants and the team members never made me feel like this was my first show.
What was the most challenging part on the show though?
So the most challenging part was rehearsing without him. Faisal has been good support but for all rest, the job was done by our choreographers as he was busy shooting for Chandragupta Maurya and we hardly used to get time to rehearse together. He used to join us on the last day. And finally when I was very happy that his show is getting over and he will be coming back to Mumbai and now we can rehearse together, this unfortunate incident happened.
You are not very vocal about your relationship with him. Why?
No, it's nothing like that. We are together and the world knows about it. Even when Faisal asked me that he wants to make it public I didn't show any kind of objection towards it.
When you guys began dating, did you know that he’s a star already?
No, in fact before meeting him for the first time I didn't even know he is an actor and dancer. The event where we met each other, I saw people taking selfies and clicking pictures with him and he was constantly looking at me. So that time I definitely understood that he is a famous person. But when we exchanged numbers and started chatting with each other he never told me that he is a celebrity or something. After some time I came to know he was the winner of Dance India Dance. You know the fun part is when we started living together I got to know he is also an actor and has done a show called Maharanapratap.
So now when you have already walked into the TV space, do you wish to be here or go back to modelling?
See, I always wanted to become an actor and now when I am already here. I want to try my hands in acting and it doesn't matter what the platform is.
