12 Years Since India Beat Pakistan In T20 World Cup; BCCI Commemorates The Historic Win
This day, 12 years ago, we got to witness a historic match of the Indian cricket team led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni against Pakistan in the final of the inaugural ICC World T20 at Johannesburg, South Africa. The Indian team was crowned as the champions and this was an iconic win as India went into the tournament without their most experienced players Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Ganguly and hence there was not a lot of hope that the Indian team would emerge victorious. The World T20 final that took place in 2007 is still very freshly etched into our minds and what an exciting match that was!

Now, it has been 12 years to that final match and to refresh our memories, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to their social media handles to commemorate Team India’s victory over Pakistan.  BCCI shared a 16-second-long clip from the match and the video left a lot of cricket fans nostalgic. The caption of the video read, “This day, in 2007 #TeamIndia were crowned World T20 Champions.” Take a look at the video from the iconic match:

Many nostalgic cricket fans replied to the Tweet and shared pictures and videos of the Indian cricket team. The pictures show the captain MS Dhoni sporting his famous long hairstyle and relived the moment. Several fans also wrote thank you notes for MS DHoni, Sreesanth and other team members and were all praises for them.
