Video sharing Mobile application TikTok has created a lot of frenzy among the youth. It is an easy to use app and unlike other video creating apps, videos on TikTok are made in a matter of minutes. TikTok has a massive number of users who have also become huge Tiktok stars but addiction to this app claimed a life in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
A 24-year-old man allegedly drowned in a lake while recording a video of himself taking a bath on the video-sharing app TikTok. The man was along with a friend in the outskirts of the city when tragedy struck and took the life of one of them. 24-year old Narasimhalu drowned after he moved deep into the lake even as his cousin was recording a video of their bathing on Tuesday evening, police said on Thursday. The victim could not swim and on seeing him struggling, his cousin rushed out of the lake and immediately informed the locals who came and retrieved the body. The video of the men splashing water and dancing before the unfortunate incident went viral on the Internet.
The police have registered the case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The deceased, Narasimhulu’s body was sent for an autopsy.
While talking to ANI, Inspector Mahesh said, "The two entered the pond and Narasimhulu, who was making the video on his cell phone, drowned. We advise youth not to involve in any dangerous acts in the guise of shooting these kinds of videos."
