Amitabh Bachchan Buys ₹40 Crore Plot In Ayodhya, Marks Fourth Major Investment Near Ram Janmabhoomi Temple
Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has expanded his real estate portfolio in Ayodhya by acquiring a 25,000-square-foot plot near the Ram Janmabhoomi temple for ₹40 crore. This marks his fourth property purchase in the city, highlighting his growing investment interest in the region.
The newly acquired land is situated close to the upscale 'Sarayu' real estate development, where Bachchan had previously invested ₹14.5 crore in a 10,000-square-foot plot. In March 2025, he also purchased a 54,454-square-foot plot approximately 10 kilometers from the Ram Mandir, registered under the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Trust, with plans to build a memorial for his late father, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Additionally, days before the inauguration of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, Bachchan bought a 5,372-square-foot plot in Haveli Avadh for ₹4.54 crore.
Expressing his sentiments about Ayodhya, Bachchan stated, "This is the start of a heartfelt journey into the soul of Ayodhya, where tradition and modernity seamlessly co-exist, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates with me deeply. I am looking forward to building my home in the global spiritual capital."
Ayodhya's real estate market has been experiencing significant growth, driven by infrastructure developments like the expansion of the international airport, improved connectivity, and the construction of the Ram Mandir. Land prices in the city have reportedly increased at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19%, with projections suggesting this could reach 25% by 2035.
Bachchan's investments in Ayodhya reflect both a personal connection to the city and confidence in its potential as a spiritual and cultural hub.
