One of the most popular Bhajan singers Narendra Chanchal passed away this afternoon. He was 76. As per online reports, the well-known Bhajan singer was admitted to hospital on November 27. Apart from his Bhajan singing career, Narendra Chanchal had also crooned a few Hindi films songs. Narendra Chanchal also won an award in 1973 for the song Beshan Mandir Masjid in the film Bobby. Ever since the news of his sad demise hit the web, condolence messages have been pouring in for the family of the popular Bhajan singer.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tweeted, “The news of the demise of popular hymn singer Narendra Chanchal ji is extremely sad. He made a mark in the world of singing hymns with his vibrant voice. My condolences to his family and fans in this hour of mourning. Om shanti!” While Chief Minister of Rajasthan wrote, “My heartfelt condolences at the passing away of renowned Bhajan singer Shri Narendra Chanchal. He popularised singing of hymns & devotional music. May God give strength to his family members & admirers to bear this loss. May his soul rest in peace.”

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted, “Saddened to hear demise of singer Narendra Chanchal ji , He will be remembered for his bhajans and some remarkable songs in Hindi films, my heartfelt condolences to his admirers and family.” Cricketer Harbhajan Singh wrote, “Deeply saddened to learn that iconic and most loved Narendra Chanchal ji has left us for the heavenly abode...Heartfelt condolences to his family.”
