There was a time in Bollywood when audience used to watch the movies to enjoy the scenic locations in it hence on several occasions, the plot of the movies were developed, keeping in mind the shooting location. Scenic locations not only gave the cinema, an aesthetic look but also create a desire amongst the audience to actually go there on holidays and enjoy the location. This has certainly boosted the tourism of many countries, for an instance, there was a drastic growth seen in the inbound tourism of Spain from India after the release of ”Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”. Similar there are many such movies who have boosted the tourism of many countries. Even today people plan their holidays after watching Bollywood films, and on the other hand the tourism boards have also started introducing Bollywood tourism, with the aim of showing the Bollywood shooting locations of their respective states.
Bollylands.com is one of its kind travel show, which highlights the shooting locations around the globe. The show is currently streaming on MX Player with 10 seasons shot in different countries and cities. It’s a creative innovation of Director Shashank Mane and his team to show the tourist places from the lens of Bollywood. Along with shooting locations, the team Bollylands.com has also travelled to the unexplored locations by Bollywood (Where no Bollywood movie is shot) and have featured some of the scenic beauty in their show. They also give information about the unexplored locations which helps the filmmakers to spot it for their future projects.
In recent seasons, the team Bollylands.com travelled to Bahrain, in the search of fresh and new shooting locations as the country Bahrain is less explored by Bollywood. Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna and Ameesha Patel starrer “Humraaz” is the only known Bollywood films that has been shot in Bahrain. Though the filmmakers did not use the iconic locations in Bahrain, and instead chose the coastline, where the Cruise in movie is sailing over the Gulf of Bahrain. The show has won several awards and is well acknowledge by the dignitaries from Bollywood Industry like Anees Bazmee, Kabir Khan, Farah Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Sonu Sood, Siddharth Malhotra and so on. The tourism Board like Mauritius, Bahrain, Hungary, Cambodia, Vietnam have backed this show and has seen the potential in boosting the tourism of their respective countries. Going forward, the show aims to cover and promote more tourist destinations from the shooting point of view and keep the audience entertained by sharing some interesting unknown fun facts and behind the scenes stories.
