BTS’ V aka Kim Taehyung has once again broken the internet!

The K-pop idol’s popularity is on a continuous hike and he became the fastest icon to reach 50.1 million followers on Instagram within eight months of joining the platform. He is not only the first K-pop icon to achieve this feat, but he is also the first individual and celebrity to unlock this new milestone on Instagram. The BTS member is finally showing off his prowess which proves his global reputation. 

For the uninitiated, on December 6, 2021, BTS members activated their individual Instagram accounts, and shortly after 8-years of being in the entertainment industry. The popular South-Korean boyband - BTS has become the top group in the world and with their reputation for breaking records, the boy group was expected to break a lot of records on this platform too.

Interestingly, V already boasts of earning two Guinness World Records for being the fastest K-pop idol to hit one and ten million followers since date of joining the platform back in December 2021.


In the last eight months, BTS’ V has impressively gained over 50 million followers, surpassing BLACKPINK member Lisa's 33-month record. As per the reports, he also reached 50 million followers in just 8 months and 14 days! He is also the fastest Asian male to achieve this milestone.

As per the Hype auditor - an AI-powered tool- Taehyung's Instagram account saw a 4.03 per cent increase in followers over the past four weeks. Well, you’d be surprised to know that V is not only the BTS member’s first Instagram milestone of the year! 

Previously, apart from being ranked #6 worldwide on the Top 1000 Instagram Influencers list, Taehyung also had "The Highest Average Likes And Engagements On Instagram History" surpassing Hollywood stars Zendaya and Tom Holland.

In a rather exciting turn of events, fans were delighted as BTS was formally appointed as an honorary ambassador of the 2030 Busan World Expo in July this year. The boy band is all set to hold a global concert in the month of October to strengthen Busan’s bidding for the world expo.
