The escalating level of air pollution in Delhi is a major concern right now. With people gasping for clean air, suffering from severe health impacts due to it, it is high time this issue is addressed and solutions are found for it right about now. Hollywood actor and climate activist Leonardo DiCaprio took to Instagram  to express his concern over the escalating levels of air pollution in Delhi. He shared pictures from the protest in Delhi and wrote that despite promises, the air is still unsafe.

Leonardo DiCaprio wrote, "Over 1500 citizens gathered in at India Gate, in New Dehli, to demand immediate action on the cities hazardous pollution levels. According to the World Health Organisation, air pollution in India is estimated to kill about 1.5 million people every year; these statistics make air pollution the fifth-largest killer in India.” He further mentioned the climate activist group Extinction Rebellion and listed the ways government is tackling the issue. He also shared pictures from the protest and added that despite all these promises, the air is still unsafe and that the acivists will keep the pressure on until the air pollution reached safe levels. The air pollution crisis in Delhi has reached an alarming level, and the Air Quality Index had reached 494 on November 3. This happens to be the most hazardous recorded level since 2016. Schools had to be shut from November 12 to November 14 due to the hazardous air quality and a thick layer of smog had covered Delhi for days.
