Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde is the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He took the oath as the new CM of the state just a day after former CM Uddhav Thackeray submitted his resignation from the post. Eknath has been receiving congratulatory wishes from every nook and cranny. From PM Narendra Modi to Bollywood celebs like Kangana Ranaut, Riteish Deshmukh, Swara Bhasker, and more extended their wishes to Eknath Shinde on becoming the new chief minister of Maharashtra.  

Taking to her Instagram handle, the Queen actress penned an endearing note for Eknath Shinde while congratulating him. She posted a photo of him and wrote, “What an inspiring success story....From driving auto-rickshaw for a living to becoming of the most important and powerful people in the country...congratulations sir” along with a joined hand emoji. Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri tweeted, “Congratulations @mieknathshinde Congratulations @Dev_Fadnavis for your dynamic leadership. PM Narendra Modi congratulated both New Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis on his Twitter handle. The PM wrote, “I would like to congratulate Shri @mieknathshinde Ji on taking oath as Maharashtra CM. A grassroots level leader, he brings with him rich political, legislative and administrative experience. I am confident that he will work towards taking Maharashtra to greater heights.”




On Thursday, Eknath Shinde and BJP's Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the chief minister and deputy chief minister of Maharashtra respectively. Both the leaders held their first cabinet meeting and called a special session of the state Assembly on July 2 and 3. As per the latest reports, Eknath Shinde has reversed the Uddhav Thackeray government's decision on the controversial Metro car shed project in Mumbai.

For the unversed, Uddhav Thackeray submitted his resignation days after Shinde led a rebellion alleged that Thakeray ignored Shiv Sena MLAs' demand that the alliance with Congress and NCP should be ended.
