Emraan Hashmi Diagnosed With Dengue During Shoot Of Telugu Debut ‘OG’ in Mumbai; Shoot Temporarily Halted
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has been diagnosed with dengue while filming his Telugu debut, OG, in Mumbai. The actor began experiencing symptoms during a shoot in Aarey Colony, Goregaon—an area known for its dense vegetation and high mosquito population. Following medical consultation and tests, the diagnosis was confirmed, and he has been advised to rest for at least a week. Consequently, the production team has temporarily halted the shoot to allow Hashmi time to recover.

Hashmi promptly informed the filmmakers about his condition and expressed regret over the disruption. The production team has been supportive, emphasizing the importance of his health and advising him to focus on recovery. He is currently recuperating at home and is expected to resume shooting once he receives medical clearance.

OG, directed by Sujeeth of Saaho fame, is a high-octane gangster action drama featuring Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. The film also stars Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, and Prakash Raj. Hashmi portrays the primary antagonist, marking his debut in Telugu cinema. The storyline revolves around a feared gangster who resurfaces in Mumbai after a decade-long absence, seeking vengeance. Produced by DVV Entertainment, the film is slated for a theatrical release on September 25, 2025.

The incident coincides with a surge in dengue cases in Maharashtra, particularly during the early monsoon season, which creates optimal breeding conditions for mosquitoes. Health experts advise preventive measures such as using mosquito repellents, wearing protective clothing, and eliminating stagnant water to reduce the risk of infection.

Despite this setback, the production team remains optimistic about resuming the shoot once Hashmi has fully recovered.
