Jenna Ortega has been taking over the internet owing to her casting in the Wednesday, and she has impressed everyone with her acting chops. Well, the 20-year-old is already riding the high wave and big future roles are likely to be in the cards for her. However, it seems that it would usually at some point lead to talk of a Marvel Cinematic Universe role.
Interestingly, some Jenna Ortega fans have already opined that she may not be able to get that big lead role in an upcoming MCU movie because she has already appeared in one!
To everyone’s surprise, Jenna Ortega appeared in Iron Man 3 in 2012 when she was just 10 years old, and her scene certainly falls into the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it category. But, that doesn’t rule out the possibility that she could now not miss out on a big casting offer at an MCU future only because of that.
In a recent Twitter post, Mia Khalifa pointed out that her millions of followers that “Life is unfair, and I stand by that because Jenna Ortega had a cameo in a Marvel movie years ago which means we’ll never be able to see her as a lead in a Marvel movie.”
Plenty of Ortega’s fans shared their surprise at her previous Marvel appearance, having no idea that she was even in Iron Man 3, there were others who were a little more optimistic about her possible inclusion in another Marvel movie sometime in the future.
Well, it's easy to say that if she wants to star in a Marvel movie, she can if the right role comes around.
Ortega’s appearance in the Marvel franchise was minimal enough and also was a role that she played as a young child, meaning that it would likely not stop her from ever being offered a more prominent role in the MCU.
As per the latest reports, she wouldn’t be the first one to have appeared twice as different characters within the Marvel franchise either.
One of the best examples of the same actor in two different roles is Gemma Chan who appeared as Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel, and returned in role of Sersi in Eternals.
This could simply mean that Ortega will have no problem stepping into a big Marvel role if and when it comes along.
Well, that is something only the future will tell.
But, currently, she is basking in the success of all the praises that have come her way for taking on the iconic role of Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s latest hit.
