Farah Khan Compares Baba Ramdev To Salman Khan During Ashram Visit: ‘Woh Bhi 1BHK Mein Rehta Hai, Mahal Sabke Liye Banaya
During a recent visit to Baba Ramdev’s ashram in Haridwar, filmmaker Farah Khan drew a surprising comparison between the yoga guru and Bollywood star Salman Khan, underlining their shared simplicity. As she toured the ashram, Ramdev showed her meditation halls, cottages, and serene spots meant for spiritual retreat. Although he has built grand structures for others, he revealed that he himself lives in a humble hut made of Jodhpur stone.
Impressed by this juxtaposition, Farah said, “Aap aur Salman Khan ek hi ho. Woh bhi 1BHK mein rehta hai aur banayein hai mahal sab ke liye.” In English: “You and Salman Khan are the same. He too lives in a one-bedroom house, while having built palaces for everyone.” Ramdev agreed with her.
The conversation led Farah to playfully refer to Ramdev’s personal residence as a “shaahi mahal” (royal palace). She praised its grandeur and said, “Maharaj ji, you’ve built an entire city for yourself.” Ramdev responded by drawing a parallel with Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram, calling his own abode his “tapassvi kutiya.” He reiterated that the palatial structures surrounding him are built for the public, but he continues to live in a simple hut.
At another moment during the visit, Ramdev showed Farah a kamandal (a ritual water pot) worth ₹1 lakh, prompting her to quip: “Ameesha Patel, are you watching? This is a bag you need to get.”
Farah Khan has become popular for her cooking vlogs since 2024, where she invites celebrities to cook alongside her (and her witty cook, Dilip).
