Indian 2 Crane Crash: Kamal Haasan Appears Before Cops, Questioned Over Probe Into Film Set Accident That Killed 3
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan appeared before the officers of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Tuesday in connection with the crane crash accident that killed three of his colleagues on the sets of Indian 2 on February 19. The accident reportedly claiming the lives of three people, and 10 injured after a crane suddenly snapped and fell on people working under it, on the sets of Indian 2. Kamal Haasan was summoned by the cops, over probe into the accident, and was quizzed for nearly three hours.

The film’s director Shankar had been questioned by the police last week. According to PTI, Kamal Haasan said that he appeared before the police as they wanted to know the details about the February 19 mishap. He said, “I saw this (appearing before police) as my duty towards the three brothers I have lost. I apprised the police of the chain of events that I knew.” He also said that this interaction was the first step by the industry towards ensuring no accidents at shooting spots. He said, “Soon, our industry (members) are going to meet.”

Soon after the tragic accident, Kamal Haasan, had shared his sadness and offered condolences to families of all the team members who lost their lives.  He had tweeted, “I have faced and overcome many accidents, but today's is the most horrific one. I lost three colleagues. The distress of their family members will be many times greater than my own pain. I share their grief as one of them. My deepest condolences to them.”


As per reports, the three killed in the accident were assistant director Krishna, art assistant Chandran and Madhu, a production assistant.
