Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain KL Rahul has been admitted to a hospital after complaining of severe abdominal pain on Saturday night. Yes, you read that right! Punjab Kings' official Twitter handle confirmed the news. The cricketer was immediately taken to the emergency room for further tests after he did not respond to initial medication. Due to this reason, Mayank Agarwal was named the Kings' captain for Sunday's game against Delhi Capitals.
"KL Rahul complained of a severe abdomen pain last night and after not responding to medication, he was taken to the emergency room for further tests which revealed that he was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. It will be resolved surgically and for safety measures he has been transferred to the hospital for the same," read the team's statement. As per a report in InsideSport, his team expects him to return within a week or ten days.
As soon as the news was shared on Twitter, fans and followers of the cricketer wished for his speedy recovery. One fan wrote, "Get well soon, champ," another one wrote, "wishing him speedy recovery." KL Rahul is the tournament's highest scorer so far. He hit 91 runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday. He has been playing exceptionally well this season and left fans impressed with his performance on-field.
