JUST IN: Shreyas Talpade And 11 Others Booked By UP Police In Multi-Lakh Investment Fraud Case
Following a court directive, the Bhogaon police in Mainpuri have registered a fraud case against Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade and 11 other individuals accused of duping villagers of substantial amounts of money through an alleged bogus investment scheme. The FIR was lodged on February 10 after a local resident of Mohalla Mishrana in Bhogaon filed a complaint alleging that the group used the name of a “Mumbai bank branch” to convince people to invest large sums with promises of high returns. According to the complaint, Talpade and his associates approached residents with attractive investment plans that were promoted as safe and profitable. The complainant claimed that villagers were persuaded to deposit funds in the belief that they would earn significant financial gains. However, the returns never materialized, and the invested money was allegedly misappropriated by those named in the FIR. The Bhogaon police only took action after being instructed by the court to register the case. A police spokesperson confirmed that the investigation has begun and officials are currently trying to unravel how the scheme was structured and what roles each named individual played in it. The probe will also look into the legitimacy of the so-called Mumbai bank branch that was used to lure investors. This is not the first time Shreyas Talpade’s name has surfaced in connection with financial fraud allegations. In recent years, he has been linked to similar FIRs in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttarakhand involving cooperative societies and multi-level investment schemes, where investors have alleged they were induced to invest money with the expectation of doubled returns, only to be left with losses. The police investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected as the case progresses. Image Source- Google
