On June 12, 2025, the world was rocked by the sudden death of Sunjay Kapur, the 53‑year‑old chairman of Sona Comstar and ex‑husband of actress Karisma Kapoor. He collapsed during a polo match in England, succumbing to a fatal heart attack. The tragic news prompted a wave of concern about heart‑health in seemingly fit individuals.
Soon after the news broke, Karisma’s sister Kareena Kapoor and brother‑in‑law Saif Ali Khan rushed to her Mumbai home late Thursday night to offer comfort during this harrowing time. Karisma, married to Sunjay in 2003 and divorced in 2016, shares their two children. After their split, Sunjay remarried Priya Sachdev in 2017, and they have a son together.
