Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has been hitting the headlines for his tweets that landed him in legal trouble. Attorney General KK Venugopal yet again granted his consent to initiate contempt of court proceedings against Kunal Kamra for his alleged tweet against Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde, reports Times Now. Former Mizoram Governor and husband of late Sushma Swaraj, Swaraj Kaushal has tweeted against Kunal Kamra, and said that it was time the Supreme Court should act.
Swaraj Kaushal took to his Twitter account and spoke up about Kunal Kamra’s tweets. He was of the view that the stand-up comedian should either be sent to the mental asylum or jail. He wrote, “It‘s the time the Supreme Court should act. @kunalkamra88 should be sent to the mental asylum or jail.” According to the report in Times Now, Allahabad based lawyer Anuj Singh had requested AG Venugopal to give consent to initiate contempt action against Kunal Kamra.
The report states that Kunal Kamra had posted a picture showing his index and middle finger against the window of an airplane. His tweet had read, “One of these 2 fingers is for CJI Arvind Bobde... ok let me not confuse you it’s the middle one.”
