MS Dhoni Fulfils Promise; To Do Patrolling And Guard Duties In Kashmir
Indian Batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a very crucial role during the ICC Cricket World Cup of 2019 in London. Post India's exit from the World Cup of 2019, reports of the former cricket captain retiring started floating on social media. There were speculations that he will not be a part of the West Indies tour and that he will join the army to serve for two months instead. MS Dhoni will be surely serving the Indian Army in Kashmir and will take on certain duties as well.

Dhoni picked up the drowning batting team along with Ravindra Jadeja after the loss of many wickets during the semi-finals against New Zealand. Now, he will serve the Indian army in Kashmir and will undertake the duties of patrolling, guard and post duty for about 15 days, the Indian Army said in a statement on Thursday.


Dhoni, who made himself unavailable from the West Indies series to serve his regiment, will formally join his duty in Kashmir on July 31. The former India captain will stay with the Army till August 15. Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) MS Dhoni is proceeding to 106 Territorial Army Battalion (Para) for being with the Battalion from July 31 to August 15, 2019.

According to a report by Ani, Dhoni sought permission to train with a battalion of the Indian Army’s Parachute Regiment Battalion for two months and his request has been approved by Army chief General Bipin Rawat.
