Veteran Bollywood actor Neena Gupta recently addressed bizarre rumours circulating on social media that claimed she was pregnant at the age of 66. The speculation began after photos and videos of the actress attending a wedding reception in Hyderabad went viral online, leading some netizens to assume that she was expecting a child.

As the chatter intensified on social media, the veteran star responded to the claims with her characteristic humour and honesty. Speaking about the rumours, she quipped, “This is all I need, a real-life Badhaai Ho.” Her remark was a playful reference to her popular film Badhaai Ho, which revolved around an older couple unexpectedly expecting a child.

However, the actress quickly clarified that the rumours were completely baseless. She said, “There is no Badhaai Ho. I am not pregnant. The truth is that the saree material was thick, which made me look bulky at the event.” According to Gupta, the heavy fabric of the saree created an illusion that sparked the speculation online.

Rather than getting upset, the actress chose to laugh off the gossip and even joked about the reactions. Commenting on the discussion around her supposed pregnancy, she said, “But I must say, I love all this speculation about my pregnancy at my age. It shows we are evolving as a nation.”

The rumours began after she was spotted at the wedding reception of actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in Hyderabad. Videos of the actress posing for paparazzi at the event quickly spread across social media platforms, triggering speculation about her appearance.

Known for her candid personality, Gupta has often spoken openly about her personal life. In the 1980s, she was in a relationship with former West Indies cricketer Viv Richards and raised their daughter, fashion designer Masaba Gupta, as a single mother. Years later, she married Delhi-based chartered accountant Vivek Mehra in 2008.
