Nick Cannon's Father James Hoped His 5-Month-Old Grandson Zen Survived Brain Cancer Battle, Says Alyssa Scott Is Devastated
Nick Cannon and his model Alyssa Scott are mourning the loss of their son Zen who was born in June this year. Unfortunately, the couple’s five-month-old son died of a brain tumour. The American actor and rapper announced of the incident while hosting The Nick Cannon Show on Tuesday. 

While talking to a live audience in his talk show, the star revealed that his son died in his mother's arms in their home in Burbank, California. 






While talking to The Sun, Nick's father James Cannon said, "I am leaving him to grieve but Nick internalizes pain." Further, he added, "I have never seen the pain and the struggles he goes through with Lupus, apart from when he is in hospital. I am amazed at how Nick handles certain issues, and I cannot imagine how it is for Alyssa, being the mom, it is heartbreaking. She is devastated."


James shared that he hoped his grandson would survive the unfortunate incident and said, "I took pictures and held Zen, his bright eyes had hope, and I always imagined him playing ball one day and growing up. I was like, 'Don't put no red tag on Zen, you have got to have hope.'" 

Talking about the moment he received the news of his grandson’s demise, James Cannon said, "To get the news he passed was so sad, they were taking it day by day. Every day was different. They might have been given a time frame, but I think they were still praying for a miracle."

During his announcement on The Nick Cannon Show, Nick had revealed that Zen started facing health problems and he had congestion. The host also revealed that his son was diagnosed with hydrocephalus. 

On Tuesday, the star fought tears as he announced the tragic news of his son's death on 'The Nick Cannon Show', leaving everyone heartbroken.
