The year 2020 has been a nothing short of a nightmare. Many deaths of famous personalities have been reported. As per the latest reports, actor VJ Chitra is no more. The 29-year-old actress who was well-known for her serial Pandian Stores reportedly died by suicide. She was found hanging in a hotel room in Chennai's Nazrathpet. As reported by The Indian Express, it was hotel manager who called the police to inform about the Chitra's suicide.

A police official from Nazrathpet Police station informed the news portal, "Around 2:30-2:45 am today, the hotel manager called the police helpline number (100) informing about the incident. Based on that information, we immediately reached the hotel. The body was recovered and sent to Kilpauk government hospital for post-mortem. We are ascertaining the cause of death.” Chitra was a popular name in Tamil television industry.

It was recently that Chitra got engaged to businessman Hemanth. As per a few reports, she was staying with her fiancé at the hotel and was shooting at EVP film city. Many of her fans are in shock and mourning her death on social media. A fan wrote, "Very Talented Dancer & Outstanding Actress .. Other people cannot replace your character in #Pandianstores .. Rest in peace Chitra (Mullai) Akka.. Om Namashivaya."
