Grown-up watching Bollywood films, we all might have come across various stories revolving around the lives of underdogs and rags to riches. Well, most of them seemed to be fictional, until Ranu Mondal came into limelight. And, unless you are living under a rock, you are surely aware of Ranu Mondal, who has become a household name after a video of her singing on a railway station’s platform had gone viral. Ranu has not only become famous, but she also bagged several Bollywood projects, including that of Himesh Reshammiya and Salman Khan’s.
Amid all this, Ranu Mondal also reunited with her long-lost daughter Elizabeth Sathi Roy, who claims of not seeing her from the past eight years. However, if the other side of this story is to be believed, then Ranu’s daughter had abandoned her because she was becoming a burden and now that Ranu has earned fame, Elizabeth is back in her life. In a recent interview with IANS, Elizabeth Sathi Roy has now come forward and rubbished all the accusations. Further, she added that members of Ranaghat’s Amra Shobai Shoitaan club, who are taking care of Ranu Mondal, are not letting her talk with her mother and she has also accused them of threatening her.
"It feels like as if Atindra Chakraborty and Tapan Das (club members) are my mother's own sons. They and other members of the club have threatened to break my leg and throw me out if I try to get in touch with my mother. They don't let me talk to ma even over the phone. Also, they are brainwashing ma against me,” said Elizabeth.
Upon being asked about all criticism she faced for allegedly abandoning Ranu, Elizabeth claimed that she wasn’t aware of the fact that Ranu Mondal used to sing on a railway station. Moreover, Elizabeth stated that she was always in touch with Ranu, however, she couldn’t meet her due to her personal problems.
