Reliance Jio Gigafiber To Launch On September 5, 2019: Customers Can Watch First Day, First Show For Movies

Reliance Industries is currently conducting its 42nd Annual General Meeting in Mumbai today and has announced the launch of Reliance Jio GigaFiber on September 5,2019. This will enable OTT users a host of interesting features including the option to launch first day, first of movies.

The 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries is being conducted today. Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has made several big announcements at the event, which is being held at Birla Matushri Sabhagar in Mumbai. Reliance Jio Infocomm recently announced the launch of Jio Fiber Services on a commercial basis on September 5, 2019 - the third anniversary of Reliance Jio's launch. 

Among other announcements, billionaire  Mukesh Ambani has also announced the commercial launch of Jio Fiber on September 5. The base plan starts at speed of 100 MBPS and goes up to 1GBPS, The prices of Jio Fiber will range from Rs 700 to Rs 10,000 per month. Mukesh Ambani has also announced ‘Jio First Day First Show’ plan under which Premium JioFibre customers will be able to watch movies in their living rooms on the day of the release. This will be rolled out in 2020. Another big announcement is the partnership with Microsoft under which Jio will set up data centers across India and Microsoft will bring the cloud platform.

Jio Fiber will be bundled with subscriptions to most leading premium OTT applications. Premium Jio Fiber customers will be able to launch movies on the same day they are released in theatres, Ambani said.

Another announcement was the Jio Fiber Welcome Offer, where Jio Fiber subscribers opting for annual plans-called Jio Forever Plans- will get a HD LED or 4K TVs and a 4K set-top box free. Ambani also announced that the Jio GigaFiber IoT (Internet of Things) platform will be commercially available from January 1, 2020.
