Former Indian cricket team skipper, Sachin Tendulkar donated Rs 1 Crore to procure and provide oxygen concentrators to hospitals. The cricketer tweeted a note and expressed his gratitude for the love he received while playing for the country. Tendulkar made a tweet and spoke about the immense pressure that the second wave of COVID-19 has put on our healthcare system. He said he is providing oxygen for the large number of serious patients in the need of the hour.

On Twitter, Tendulkar issued a statement, which read: “The second wave of COVID has put our healthcare system under immense pressure. Providing oxygen for the large number of serious COVID patients is the need of the hour. It is heartening to see how people are rising to the occasion. A group of 250+ young entrepreneurs have launched Mission Oxygen to raise funds for importing oxygen concentrators and donating them to hospitals across the country.” His note further reads: “I’ve helped by contributing to the cause and hope that their effort soon reaches out to many more hospitals across India.” Sachin concluded saying, “Your support when I was playing was invaluable and helped me succeed. Today, we have to stand together behind everyone that is working hard to fight this pandemic.”

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar made the tweet and added a folded hands emoji. He has donated to the Mission Oxygen India foundation which is helping in providing oxygen to hospitals in the country. Apart from Tendulkar, several Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and others are doing their best to help in dire times.
