Salman Khan Shifts Battle of Galwan Shoot To Mehboob Studio Amid Father Salim Khan’s Hospitalisation
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has adjusted the shooting plans for his upcoming film Battle of Galwan after his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, was hospitalised earlier this month. The 90-year-old was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on February 17 following a medical emergency, where he suffered a minimal brain haemorrhage and was briefly put on a ventilator before undergoing a small procedure. Hospital officials later confirmed that Salim is now stable and recovering under observation.
In light of his father’s condition, Salman reportedly made the decision to shift the film’s shoot from Film City to Mehboob Studio in Bandra so he could remain close by while continuing work. The move was intended to allow him to respond quickly if needed but also ensure the production didn’t suffer delays.
A source close to the production explained, “Salman didn't want the schedule to suffer, especially with a large crew involved. But being available for his father was equally important. Moving to Mehboob Studio made that balance possible.”
At present, filming is focused on a major song sequence that is expected to be completed in the coming days. Those close to Salman say that between takes and breaks, he has been in constant touch with doctors and family members to stay updated on Salim Khan’s health.
Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is based on the June 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley. Salman portrays PVC (Param Vir Chakra) recipient Colonel B Santosh Babu, the officer who led Indian troops during the confrontation. The film was originally slated for an April 17 release, though there are reports the date could shift to mid-August, potentially pitting it against Lahore 1947 at the box office.
