Delhi recently witnessed yet another spine-chilling crime! A 26-year-old girl was killed by her boyfriend, a live-in partner who chopped off her body into 35 pieces. It all conspired after the girl fell in love with the boy and decided to move in with him against her own parents’ wishes.
As per the recent reports, the accused roamed around the city for over 18-nights to dispose of the body parts at places in the national capital. The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a man for allegedly murdering in a live-in partner, chopping her body in 35 pieces and throwing them away.
As per the police, the accused Aftab Ameen Poonwalla strangled his live-in partner Shraddha on May 18 after they had a fight. He reportedly chopped her body into 35 pieces and bought a fridge to keep them. Over the next 18 days, he left his house at 2 am to dispose of the pieces at various locations around Delhi.
The officials shared that the victim, Shraddha, used to work at a call centre in Mumbai, where she met the accused Poonawalla. They started dating and soon moved in together. Even her family didn’t approve of their relationship so they eloped and started living together in a flat in Mehrauli.
The spine-chilling incident to light when the victim’s father came to Delhi to check on his daughter as she stopped replying to his calls. Later, when he reached the flat it was locked and he approached the Mehrauli Police and filed a complaint alleging kidnapping.
Shortly, on the basis of his complaint, the police arrested Poonawalla on Saturday, November 12. Meanwhile, during the investigation, it was discovered that the two fought frequently as Shraddha wanted to marry him.
The police, on the other hand, have filed a case of murder and are currently in search of Sharddha’s body.
