SHOCKING! Noted South Actor Pratap Pothen Passes Away, Filmmaker Found DEAD At His Flat In Chennai-Report
In a shocking turn of events, renowned actor and filmmaker Pratap Pothen was found dead at his flat in Chennai. According to the latest reports, the veteran actor, who has acted in over a hundred movies, was found dead at his residence in Chennai’s Kilpauk. He left for his heavenly abode on Friday morning at the age of 70. Pratap’s sudden demise has sent shockwaves across the entire South film industry. Many celebrities mourned the sad demise of the actor on social media.    

Reportedly, the cause of his death is yet to be known. Police is currently investigating the matter and more details are awaited. Expressing her heartfelt condolences, actress Khushbu Sundar tweeted, “So disheartened. Heartbreaking. Lost a very good friend,a wonderful human being, a great technician n actor n funniest guy ever, #PratapPothen this morning. Had the privilege to work with him in few films. Hope you are finally in peace PP. You will be missed terribly. #RIP.”







His funeral will take place on Saturday at the crematorium on New Avadi Road, Chennai.

Talking about his work front, Pratap Pothen started his Malayalam career in 1978 with the film Aaravam. He rose to fame with his brilliant stint in Thakara for which he received Filmfare Award for Best Actor. The late actor has worked in movies like, Pavizha Mutthu, Chandra Bimbam, Thaliritta Kinakkal, Chamaram, Aakali Rajyam, Thillu Mullu, Sattam Sirikkiradhu, Yudhakaandam, Meendum Oru Kaathal Kathai. 

Apart from his stellar onscreen performances, Pothen was also known for his directional skills. He donned the director’s hat for three Malayalam films Malayalam - Rithubhedam, Daisy, and Oru Yathramozhi.
