Shraddha Arya Apologises For SLAMMING Dalai Lama Over ‘Suck My Tongue’ Viral Video With Young Boy: 'Any Act Suggesting Child Mistreatment Are Enraging'
Dalai Lama recently received severe backlash on social media after a video of him kissing a minor boy on the mouth and then asking him to 'suck his tongue' went viral. The spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism has also issued a statement apologizing, explaining the whole situation. Amongst those who condemned his act was Kundali Bhagya actress Shraddha Arya. However, she got trolled for criticizing the spiritual leader. Shraddha has now issued a clarification, explaining that she didn't target any culture or religion.

The TV actress has issued an apology saying she has absolutely nothing against any religion and community, she just condemned the act. Her statement read, “A lot of people have been writing hateful stuff on my page. I don't know you guys and have absolutely nothing against you or your religion or your practices. An "act has been condemned". Not any community, religion or place.” She added, “Apologies if my choice of words used to criticise the incident were too harsh. Sadly, India is infested with child abuse and it's already very heartbreaking. Hence, any act or word that suggests of child mistreatment are extremely enraging and unappreciated #LoveOverHate.” ALSO READ: Shraddha Arya On Resuming Work Post Her Leg Injury: ‘It’s An Individual’s Choice To Work For Somebody Or Be Their Slaves’

Issuing the apology, the Dalai Lama's office said, “His holiness wishes to apologise to the boy and his family as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused. His holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras. He regrets the incident.”

The event, which raised many eyebrows on social media, was held in February. Pictures and videos showing the 87-year-old monk kissing a minor boy have angered many netizens.
