Renowned Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead on May 29, 2022, in Jawaharke village of Mansa district in Punjab. He was brutally killed as part of a conspiracy a day after the Punjab Police withdrew his security. Reportedly, more than 30 rounds were fired on the car Sidhu was driving. Out of the six-shooters, three were already arrested while two were gunned down in an encounter. The last and main shooter- Deepak Mundi, involved in the killing of Sidhu went underground. Now, Deepak along with his two associates has been arrested.

As per the latest reports, Deepak Mundi got arrested in a joint operation with the Delhi Police and central agencies from the West Bengal-Nepal border. Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said Deepak and his associates Kapil Pandit and Rajinder were brought to Punjab after their arrest and they will be kept in the CIA police station in Mansa. Gaurav Yadav called this arrest a major victory in the war against drugs and gangsters in a post on Twitter. The DGP added, “Deepak, Kapil Pandit and Rajinder have been arrested by the anti-gangster task force in the culmination of intelligence-based operation. Deepak was the shooter in the Bolero module, while Kapil and Rajinder provided logistical support including weapons & hideouts.”

For the unversed, Sidhu Moosewala, whose real name is Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, was killed when he was at the peak of his career. He was shot dead by six-shooters when he along with his friend and cousin was driving to Jawahar Ke village in Mansa. Two cars waylaid his vehicle and fired bullets into him. After his brutal murder, Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, took the responsibility for Sidhu’s killing.
