Sonali Phogat MURDER: Goa Court Grants Bail To Two Suspected Drug Suppliers Ramadas Mandrekar And Dattaprasad Gaonkar-REPORTS
Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Court has granted bail to the two drug peddlers Ramadas Mandrekar and Dattaprasad Gaonkar in furnishing a bond of Rs Rs 30000 each and two sureties of Rs 15000 each
Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader and Bigg Boss fame Sonali Phogat died in Goa in August where she had gone for a shoot with her staff members. Her case was being invested by Goa Police, however, it has been transferred to CBI after her daughter and family demanded a CBI investigation. As per the latest update, the two drug suppliers have been granted bail in the case.
The local Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Court on Monday, September 19, 2022, granted bail to Ramadas Mandrekar and Dattaprasad Gaonkar. The court granted bail to them on furnishing the bail bond of Rs 30000 each and two sureties of Rs 15000 each.
The duo was arrested as they allegedly procured and supplied the recreational drug methamphetamine that was administered to the actress on the night she died. They were arrested with Edwin Nunes -- the owner of Curlies night club by Goa Police for their involvement in supplying drugs. Nunes was granted bail on September 07, 2022.
For the unversed, Gaonkar worked as the bellboy at the Grand Leoney Resort. Phogat stayed there with her PA Sudhir Sangwan and his aide Sukhwinder Singh. Sudhir and Sukhwinder are accused of murder charges. Mandrekar was his supplier who allegedly procured the MDMA.
Gaonkar and Nunes were arrested on August 27, 2022, while Mandrekar was arrested a day after by the Goa police as they included a narcotics angle to the investigation.
Sonali Phogat breathed last on August 23, 2022, in Goa. She was declared dead at the St. Anthony Hospital at Anjuna in North Goa.
