Swastika Mukherjee Accuses Film Producer Of Sexual Harassment; Actress Gets Morphed NUDE Pictures And Threatening Emails-Reports
Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee has accused her film’s co-producer Sandeep Sarkar of sexual harassment
Popular Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee has made some serious allegations against her film’s co-producer Sandeep Sarkar. In a recent interview, she accused the producer of sexual harassment and even claimed that she received threatening emails from the co-producer and his associates. The ‘Qala’ actress also alleged that her pictures have been morphed and that the producer has threatened to share her images on pornography websites. Swastika has lodged a complaint at Golf Green Police Station in Kolkata.
Speaking with the OTT play, the Bengali actress shared her ordeal and narrated the incident. Swastika was quoted saying, “It all started pretty randomly. During the entire course of shooting and dubbing, I have never been introduced to Sandeep Sarkar. It was another co-producer Ajanta Sinha Roy who communicated with us. Suddenly, Sandeep Sarkar started sending me threatening emails. He claimed that he was an American citizen and that if I didn’t ‘cooperate’ with them he would get in touch with the US Consulate so that I never get a US visa. He also threatened to drag me to the Police Commissioner, Chief Minister, and so on.”
She added, “Now I have absolutely no idea what this ‘cooperation’ means. I shot the film and dubbed it and I never intended not to participate in promotional activities. Initially, the film was scheduled to release in March. I emailed my available dates to them. There was no response. Later, they shifted the release. And yet they did not bother to let me know. I got to know it from our director and again mailed him my available dates. By then he was supposed to helm the promotional activities. Now, what are they even talking about? There have been no marketing or PR plans that I received. Swastika also revealed that even her manager received a threatening email from a person named Ravish Sharma who claimed to be a friend of Sandeep Sarkar. She even mentioned she has kept mum on this just to ensure the smooth release of the film 'Shibpur'.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, the actress is a popular face in Bengali cinema. She is known for her outstanding stint in Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach. Her act with Pankaj Tripathi received critical appreciation. Swastika also left everyone impressed with her acting chops in Babil Khan’s debut film Qala.
