Taylor Swift’s New Single 'Lover' Showcases Fairy Tale Romance; Hits 5 Million Views In Just 12 Hours
Singer-composer Taylor Swift released her much-awaited music video titled Lover while live-streaming through her Youtube channel. The music video opens with a girl holding a snow-globe followed by the camera zooming in and transporting us to the romantic world created by Taylor Swift in her single. A colourful doll-house giving a sneak peek of the love life she desires, where rules will be laid by her. Backup dancer Christain Owens who featured in several videos plays the male lead. The song narrates the couple's desire to enjoy a carefree life. Such as spending some cosy times in each other's arms to chilling with friends as per their wish. 

Sharing it on her official Twitter handle she wrote, "This album is very much a celebration of love, in all its complexity, coziness, and chaos. It’s the first album of mine that I’ve ever owned, and I couldn’t be more proud. I’m so excited that #Lover is out NOW: https://taylorswift.lnk.to/Lover" Dropping a hint of her song when she was awarded as the Inaugural Icon Award at recent 2019 Teen Choice Awards, she created excitement among her fans. 

On-stage, Taylor while accepting her award had announced the single and had said, "I also just wanted to tell you, there's so much that I'm excited about coming up in the next 12 days until my album comes out. The album comes out on 23 August, but I wanted to tell you guys tonight that on the 16, on Friday, I have a new song called 'Lover' that is coming out, and I'm so excited. I love you."

Lover is co-directed by Drew Kirsch and Swift, who also went behind the camera for her previous single titled You Need To Calm Down.
