Tinnu Anand Faces Backlash For Threatening To Hit Stray Dogs Near Mumbai Home With 'Hockey Stick': "Take Them Home Or Face My Wrath"
Veteran actor and director Tinnu Anand has found himself at the center of controversy after a WhatsApp message allegedly sent by him to his housing society group went viral, triggering widespread backlash from netizens and animal rights activists.

The message, which appears to be a response to the presence of stray dogs near his Mumbai residence, reads: “Have come back after a horrifying shoot to be greeted by terrifying dogs barking and not knowing who to bite next... Challenge taken. Have a hockey stick to face them... am warning all dog lovers hereon... take them home OR then face my wrath... my society is given advance notice.”

This aggressive warning has sparked outrage online, with many users tagging Mumbai Police and animal welfare organisations, demanding immediate action. Activists argue that the message not only promotes violence against animals but also violates the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, which prohibits harming or threatening animals.

Tinnu Anand, known for his directorial work in Shahenshah and acting roles in films like Ghajini and Kaalia, has yet to issue any public clarification or apology regarding the viral message. His silence has only added fuel to the criticism, with many urging authorities to take suo motu cognizance of the matter.

Animal rights groups have strongly condemned the tone of the message, saying such remarks by public figures can incite violence against helpless strays and set a dangerous precedent. “There are proper legal channels and civic bodies to address such issues. Threats of this kind are completely unacceptable,” said one activist on social media.

As of now, no formal complaint has been registered, but the matter continues to trend across social platforms, raising serious questions about celebrity responsibility and animal welfare.
