Deepika Padukone recently opened up about the profound impact motherhood has had on her life since the birth of her daughter, Dua, in 2024. The actress shared how becoming a mother has completely shifted her priorities, stating, "That person comes before you." She revealed that she has chosen to be a hands-on parent, managing without a nanny and dedicating herself entirely to her daughter's upbringing.

Discussing the balancing act between motherhood and work, Deepika admitted she is still learning how to manage her time efficiently. “I think where I'm at in my life right now is how do I manage my time as a mother, as a new mother, with getting back to... to be able to manage my daughter and her life and getting back to work without feeling guilt. I think that is something I'm figuring out. I won't say I am struggling with, but I'm still figuring it out,” she said.
She also reflected on how motherhood might shape her professional decisions moving forward. “Yes, I think motherhood in itself has been so incredible that I'm sure somewhere, if not consciously, subconsciously it will influence the kind of movies and the roles that I choose to do moving forward. Having said that, I do believe that I've been pretty aware and conscious even before motherhood,” she explained.
Deepika and her husband, Ranveer Singh, had introduced their daughter to the world in December 2024. They named her Dua, which means “prayer,” expressing that she is the answer to their heartfelt wishes. The actress’ journey into motherhood has brought her not only immense joy but also a renewed outlook on life and career, with a focus on nurturing both her child and her personal aspirations.
