Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis player Sania Mirza had set couple goals for their admirers when they tied the knot despite facing brutal backlash from both countries. However, it all went down the drain when reports of their separation started surfacing online. The cricketer left everyone shocked when he announced his marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed. Well, now it is being reported that Malik was cheating on his ex-wife for 3 years with the actress before they separated.
According to a report by the Times Now News, Pakistani journalist Naeem Hanif spoke about Shoaib and Sania’s tumultuous relationship in a podcast on Samaa TV and made some shocking revelations. He claimed that despite being married to other people, the feelings between the cricketer and the actress continued to grow. He went on to share that the lovebirds instantly hit it off after they crossed paths on a television reality show. The journalist went on to add that he would often ask producers to invite Sana on the shows he would appear on. The journalist revealed that after knowing about her ex-husband’s secret affair, Sania informed his parents who immediately flew to Dubai to resolve the problems they were facing. As per the report by Times Now News, despite attempts from the family members including Shoaib’s brother-in-law, Imran Zafar, things got out of hand and they decided to part ways. While Sania and Shoaib have maintained silence on their separation, her sister Anam Mirza released an official statement confirming the divorce rumours. Quoted by the media publication, her statement read, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eyes. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead.”
For the unversed, before tying the knot with Sania, Malik was married to Ayesha Siddiqui. He divorced her in 2010, before marrying the tennis player later that year. They had tied the knot in a traditional Muslim ceremony in Hyderabad, India which was followed by a Walima ceremony in Sialkot, Pakistan. They welcomed their son Izhaan Mirza Malik, eight years later. Over the past year, it was heavily rumoured that the cricketer cheated on his wife with model Ayesha Omar. His marriage to Sana Javed, who recently divorced Umar Jaswal, her husband of three years, definitely came as a surprise for many.
