Who Is 'Kacha Badam' Singer Bhuban Badyakar? Here’s All You Need To Know About The Peanut Seller!
The viral Kacha Badam song has taken over the internet and it has already turned out one of the most trending songs on Instagram reels and many other platforms.  It is quite hard to miss videos of people dancing to the peppy beats of the song while scrolling through Instagram. But, we bet you didn't know, that the song is the brainchild of a humble peanut seller named Bhuban Badyakar from West Bengal!

But, the question remains, who is Bhuban Badyakar? Here’s all you need to know about him!

Bhuban Badyakar is the peanut seller who sang the song in the viral video. He is a resident of the Dubrajpur block of Kuraljuri village in Lakshminarayanpur Panchayat of West Bengal’s Birbhum district. Bhuban’s family of five includes his wife, two sons and a daughter.

In a recent chat with ETimes, Badyakar revealed that he wishes to pursue his musical career and that the love he received from the social media users ‘brought tears to his eyes’.

Professionally, Badyakar sells peanuts in exchange for small trinkets and broken household items. He cycles to faraway villages to sell peanuts. He sells 3- 4 kgs of peanuts every day and earns Rs 200-250. However, after finding fame as the Kacha Badam man, he has been selling much more peanuts than usual.

Financially, Bhuban Badyakar has had a rough time. In an interview with AajTak, Bhuban showed his humble adobe and its living area. Talking to the portal, he said, “I just want people to know about my song and I want the government to help me with some funds to make some permanent living arrangements for my family. I also want to give them good food to eat and good clothes to wear.”

After selling peanuts for almost 10 years, Bhuban was pleasantly surprised by this newfound fame on social media. “I had no idea how my song went viral. Probably someone had recorded my song while I was out on the streets. I go to places like Birbhum and Bardhaman to sell peanuts,” Bhuban added.

The song, which was created by Badyakar as a way of selling peanuts and attracting customers, was first uploaded to YouTube two months back, garnering over 21 million views. Over time, musician Nazmu Reachat created a remix of the song, which set Instagram ablaze.
