Popular YouTuber Technoblade, who amassed a huge fan following on YouTube passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer at the age of 23. The Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade’s family confirmed his death in an emotional farewell video that was posted on the late content creator's behalf on the popular online video-sharing platform.
The clip, titled “So Long Nerds” addressed the YouTuber's 10 million followers.
According to the family, the video also contained a message written by the YouTuber, whose real name was Alex, which was written hours before his death. The message read out by Mr Alex's father said, “Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this. I am dead.”
The note read: “Thank you all for supporting my content over the years. If I had another hundred lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time as those were the happiest years of my life.”
In the video, the YouTuber’s father also spoke about him and described Mr Alex as he added, “He was the most amazing kid anyone could ever ask for. I miss Technoblade.”
Furthermore, apart from the video, Mr Alex’s family also issued a statement to his fans and followers. The statement which appears towards the end of the video read: “We, the family of Technoblade, wanted you all to know just how much he adored and respected his fans and colleagues. From Technoblade's earliest online days, he was always strategizing ways to delight and reward his audience.”
Popular YouTuber Technoblade, who had amassed a humongous fan following on YouTube. He had close to 11 million subscribers on YouTube. His videos on Minecraft and his wry commentary on his game were a hit amongst gamers.
He usually focused on the game but he once announced receiving a cancer diagnosis.
