Dhadkan was a huge hit back in 2000, the riveting romantic saga caught
the imagination of an entire generation. Its sequel is a much awaited one and
is all set to roll soon with a fresh script and cast.
Naturally, the makers have taken more than a few heartbeats to decide
the main lead. After all, they would want to create the same magic that Akshay
Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Shilpa Shetty Kundra had created back in the
day.
SpotboyE.com has inside dope on the casting. Actor Sooraj Pancholi is inching
very close to the finish line and joining him there is the Aashiqui 2 girl
Shraddha Kapoor. Shraddha's career is on an all time high, be it Baaghi or
Aashiqui 2 or the yet to be released Rock On!! 2, the lady seems to be the
flavour of the season. She can be fiercely romantic and vulnerable at
the same time, a perfect fit for Shilpa Shetty's role.
Rumour was that Fawad Khan was in consideration for the part but dibs are hot
on the Hero star Sooraj Pancholi. This will be Sooraj's second film post Salman
Khan's home production Hero. And bagging this is no mean feat.
Sixteen years back when Dharmesh Darshan’s musical romantic drama Dhadkan
graced the silver screen, the response was sensational. The film depicted
an intense love triangle and it was a critical as well as commercial success.
It had even won Suniel Shetty the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his
commendable performance.
As for its reprisal on the big screen, an announcement would be made
rather soon.
