Many of Deepika Padukone’s fans were left heartbroken when they saw the
first trailer of xXx: Return Of Xander Cage – the actress, who makes her Hollywood
debut with the Vin Diesel starrer, was barely seen in two-bit scenes (The
trailer of Deepika’s Hollywood debut film xXx is here, Jul 20).
Now, the actress has posted a video of all the action that went down behind-the-scenes during the shoot of the action thriller. From performing stunts to chilling out with her co-star Vin Diesel, you can see Deepika having a blast on the sets.
Deepika had hit headlines in December last year when it was announced that she is making her debut in Hollywood opposite Vin Diesel (Buzz: Deepika in the US, finalising XXX 3 with Vin Diesel, Dec 5). Over the next few months, the actress would share tidbits about the film over her Twitter handle, thus building up the hype around the project. However, the response to the first trailer was meh, with her fans complaining about the actress’ two-bit appearance in it. Deepika had then told her fans not to lose heart and promised them that she has a meaty role in the film. She said, “There are more than 6 months to go. Be patient, just wait and watch. Every few days, we will be putting up a new campaign. It is also the return of the film after many years, return of Xander Cage, and that is what it is. But slowly and slowly, more will be unveiled.”
The action film directed by DJ Caruso, also stars Donnie Yen, Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev and Rory McCann. It is the third film in the xXx franchise, after xXx (2002) and xXx: State Of The Union (2005). xXx: Return of Xander Cage will hit theatres on January 20, 2017.
