49 years to spy thriller film 'Farz' directed by Ravikant Nagaich, starring Jeetendra and Babita in lead roles. The film revolves around a spy avenging the death of a fellow agent while trying to keep his love story alive.

Music by Laxmikant Pyarelal doubled the films' interest and gave rise to a new dance form, which, in turn, earned Jeetendra the title 'Jumping Jack'.

Made in a mere Rs 5 lakh, this film was a surprising super hit and garnered a whopping Rs 80 lakh.

a prolific English writer, nominated 4 times for the Nobel Prize in Literature, as well as Carnatic vocalist, Late Madurai Shanmukhavadivu Subbulakshmi (M. S. Subbulakshmi), recipient of numerous awards like The Bharat Ratna, The Padma Bhushan and The Padma Vibhushan among others.

Born this week are also Late Maqbool Fida Husain a.k.a. M.F. Hussain, the modern Indian painter of international acclaim, and the present Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
