The Censor Board vs Udta Punjab saga is one not to be ignored. We pen down our thoughts.
Udta Punjab has been given as many as 89 cuts in the film, along with a change of title. That's like asking romance to be edited from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) or asking to edit out the sex from 50 Shades Of Grey (Oops, they actually did that!)
Team Udta Punjab has moved the Mumbai High court in this matter, and the court in turn has asked the Censor Board to give justification of their cuts.
Well, we will have to wait and see as to what the final verdict is of the court.
Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Alia Bhatt, Udta Punjab is set to hit theatres on June 17. Only time will decide as to whether the makers of the film are able to stick on to this release date or not.
