Ajay Devgn unveils first poster of Sons Of Sardaar: Battle of Saragarhi
Ajay Devgn took to Instagram this morning and shared the first poster of Sons Of Sardaar: Battle of Saragarhi.

The Battle at Saragarhi is one of the eight stories of collective bravery published by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). The famous Battle of Saragarhi was fought on September 12, 1897, by 21 Sikhs of the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment, who gave up their lives defending an army post, fighting against 10,000 Afghans. The battle occurred in the North-West Frontier Province and is now named the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and is part of Pakistan. The 21 Sikh contingent was led by Havildar Ishar Singh and they all fought to death.

Sons Of Sardaar: Battle of Saragarhi is the sequel to Ajay’s 2012 hit Son Of Sardaar. The 2012 release had clashed at the theatres with the Yash Raj Films’ biggie Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Despite Ajay’s films getting lower number of screens (the actor even alleged that Yash Raj had played foul and occupied all the multiplexes across the country), the Ashwni Dhir-directed film made money at the box-office.

The actor announced the sequel last year. After his much anticipated directorial venture Shivaay that is slated to release on Diwali this year, the actor will start shooting for Sons of Sardaar: Battle of Saragarhi.
